Organization Settings

Configure your organization settings, manage repositories, set up teams, and customize your DevLyTicks workspace for optimal team collaboration.

Creating an Organization

Organizations in DevLyTicks allow you to group repositories, manage team members, and centralize analytics for your entire development team.

Step 1: Navigate to Organization Creation

From your dashboard, click the organization dropdown and select "Create New Organization"

Step 2: Enter Organization Details

Provide a name, optional description, and logo for your organization

Step 3: Link GitHub Organization (Optional)

Connect your GitHub organization to automatically sync repositories and team members

Step 4: Invite Team Members

Add team members by email address or GitHub username

Organization Profile Setup

Customize your organization profile to reflect your team's identity and make it easier to navigate.

Profile Settings:

  • Organization Name - Display name shown throughout DevLyTicks
  • Slug/URL - Unique identifier for your organization (e.g., devlyticks.com/org/your-slug)
  • Description - Brief overview of your organization and mission
  • Logo - Upload custom logo (PNG, JPG, or SVG, max 2MB)
  • Website - Link to your company or project website
  • Location - Geographic location for time zone defaults
GitHub Organization Linking

Link your GitHub organization to DevLyTicks for seamless repository and team synchronization.

Automatic Benefits:

  • ✓ Auto-sync all organization repositories
  • ✓ Team members automatically added as they join GitHub org
  • ✓ Permission levels synced from GitHub
  • ✓ Organization settings mirrored

How to Link:

  1. Go to Organization Settings → Integrations
  2. Click "Connect GitHub Organization"
  3. Select your GitHub organization from the list
  4. Approve the connection request
  5. Wait for initial sync to complete (usually 1-5 minutes)
Repository Management

Manage which repositories are tracked by DevLyTicks and configure repository-specific settings.

Adding Repositories

  • • Connect via GitHub OAuth
  • • Select specific repositories
  • • Or grant access to all repositories
  • • Initial sync starts automatically

  • • Enable/disable analytics per repo

Team Structure

Organize your developers into teams for better collaboration and targeted analytics.

Transferring Ownership

Transfer organization ownership to another team member when needed.

Transfer Process:

  1. Go to Organization Settings → General → Danger Zone
  2. Click "Transfer Ownership"
  3. Select new owner from organization members
  4. New owner must accept the transfer
  5. Transfer completes after acceptance

Important: Only organization owners can transfer ownership. The new owner will have full control over the organization.

Multi-Organization Support

DevLyTicks allows you to be a member of multiple organizations and switch between them seamlessly.

Benefits:

  • Quick Switching - Switch organizations with one click in the header
  • Separate Data - Each organization has isolated data and settings
  • Different Roles - You can have different permissions in each organization
  • Unified Billing - Manage subscriptions separately per organization
Organization Deletion

Permanently delete your organization and all associated data.

⚠️ Danger Zone

Deleting an organization is irreversible. All data, including historical analytics, will be permanently deleted.

Before deletion:

  • Export any data you want to keep
  • Cancel active subscriptions
  • Notify team members
  • Remove GitHub app installation

To Delete:

  1. Go to Organization Settings → General → Danger Zone
  2. Click "Delete Organization"
  3. Type organization name to confirm
  4. Wait 7 days for deletion (grace period)
  5. Data is permanently deleted after grace period
Best Practices
  • Clear Naming - Use descriptive organization names that reflect your team or project
  • Regular Updates - Keep organization profile and settings up to date
  • Team Communication - Inform team members about organization changes
  • Ownership Backup - Assign at least one admin as backup owner
